The BCN is working on expanding our site to include a new library specifically for practitioners. This library will contain practical tools for delivering better care. While we currently have numerous policy and research documents from around the world, the new library will focus on training packages and practice guidelines to support the delivery of improved care for children and young people. Please send any practical guidelines, forms, training manuals or social work tools relating to delivering better care for children to swtoolkit@gmail.com!
The Steering Committee of the IATT on Children and HIV and AIDS has recently published Targeting AIDS Mitigation Resources to Children. The working paper explores how targeting necessarily prioritizes certain children and directs the allocation of limited resources. Considering this, it outlines three major objectives for targeting: 1) that the assistance, services or support are received on the basis of need (i.e., vulnerability), 2) to avoid any harm that might result from targeting; and, 3) to ensure efficient and effective use of available resources.
